Celebrate the Season Safely! 

Enjoy a journey through the Pumpkintown Forest in the comfort and safety of your own personal vehicle.

On this scenic 1-mile drive you’ll see over 30 Pumpkinhead people and their animal companions at home in their woodland dwellings.

Among the many scenes you’ll see along the way are: A School House, where Pumpkinhead children learn and play; a Trading Post, Blacksmith’s Shop and Gold Mine, businesses vital to the Pumpkinhead economy; as well as a Ski Slope, a popular recreational destination.

Reservations Required

To ensure that all preparations have been made for your arrival, The Pumpkinheads require that you make a reservation for “The Ride” at Pumpkintown U.S.A.

Download our Trail Games before you come for your ride The kids will have fun with this count and seek activity as they see how many things on our list they can find in the Pumpkintown Forest. Don’t forget your pencils to check them off as you go! 

Treats for the Trail

Delicious Pumpkintown treats are available to purchase for your drive through the Pumpkintown Forest. Let us know when you purchase your Ride tickets if you are interested in a food package to take on the trail. Pick up and pay for your package when you arrive.

Pick-up: Go straight to check-in at “The Ride” to claim or place your order. All packages are $20 and payable in CASH ONLY.

Shop for native apples like McIntosh, Cortland, and the very popular Macoun, as well as a variety of other local produce. Or try one of our seasonal butters such as pumpkin butter, apple butter, or local maple syrup.

From Hartford

  • Route 2 East to exit 13.
  • Then right off the exit ramp.
  • Go through Marlborough center and follow Route 66 West.
  • About 3.5 miles, we will be on your left.

From Norwich

  • Route 2 West to exit 13. Then left off the exit ramp.
  • Go through Marlborough center and follow Route 66 West.
  • About 3.5 miles, we will be on your left.

From New Haven

  • Route 91 North to Route 9 south and follow to Route 66 East. Cross the Connecticut River via the Arigoni Bridge. Route 66 bears right, continue on Route 66 for about 15 minutes into East Hampton.
  • We will be on your right, just past Lake Pocotopaug.
From Waterbury

  • Route 84 East to Route 691 East to 91 North.
  • Follow to 9 South to 66 East.
  • Cross the Connecticut River via the Arigoni Bridge.
  • Route 66 bears right, continue on Route 66 for about 15 minutes into East Hampton.
  • We will be on your right, just past Lake Pocotopaug.
